Hello,

Would appreciate feedback about availability & costs of marinas / moorings / launching on Lake Geneva or Lake Annecy. Considering taking our 21' trailer sailer with us due to job relocation to Geneva.

Would prefer to keep boat in water to preserve clutch on car....

From internet research there seem to be a limited number of clubs, and Google earth only seems to show a very small number of marinas or moorings.

General observations about sailing on the lakes would also be appreciated.

Thank you for your thoughts...

Hi,
Can't speak for Geneva, but Lausanne has a small marina (Ouchy) and a couple of calles (slipways).
One of the problems of the lake is its weather, which means very few sheltered shorelines - you either get the wind coming over from Evian or from the Vaud side.
Montreaux has some moorings, not sure about a marina.
Used to live in Lausanne so drop me a PM if I can help with anything else about your move. You'll enjoy Switzerland after the UK!!

Enormous fish in the lake! Evian nice place, little marina. I remember a boat yard at Geneva, but can't recall a marina, or do I??? Most probably. Lausanne was very nice. Water amazingly clear (and cold).
