One of a series by a Dutchman sailing a Centaur.

He's supposed to be a professional cameraman but I find his soundtracks rather dreary and the filming is somewhat dated in execution. Of course, that could be just down to me - others may enjoy the style (little spoken narrative, mostly sub-titles).

Anyhow, this video is still quite a pleasant way to spend 7 minutes on a dull, cold Saturday .

A fond reminder of last summer cruise. I confirm his comments about the Ijsel weather. We left Hindeloopen on a gentle sunny day heading for Enkhuizen. Very soon a squall hit us and within 1/2 hour the waves were horrible so we scuttled into Stavoren very bedraggled. Once through the lock the sun came out & the wind dropped.

I thought it was a commendable effort. Easy to view, informative, never confusing, and without that dreadful disco beat that so many film-makers mistakenly believe will bring their usually frenetic efforts to life. Certainly not a professional job, even without the spelling error, but a nice smile to open with.

I think the best part was the music as it wasn't intrusive. As a result the whole film had a gentleness that me think another visit might be as good as going to Southwold this year.

Gentleness is the right word. We could do with more of it.

Talking about that dreadful disco beat ,there is a place for everything but not what we expected on a beautiful morning as we headed back to Vlissingen on the Walcheren and couldn't escape this intrusive barge taking the same 'BLUE WAVE' through the bridges.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNVFZDT344c

I wonder if all those spinners are connected to the prop shaft. Could be an idea for a cheap river cruise.:)
