I haven't been in there for a while but the Marine Superstore at Port Solent used to have cheap footware. I haven't tried their boots but some deck shoes I and the Old Guvnor bought lasted a fair time. At least they hadn't worn out before the smell became unbearable!

ps Just to make it clear - I'm referring to the smell from the shoes - not the Old Guvnor, bless her!

We have Yacht Boots on Full Circle.

They are warm and dry, with razor cut soles and grippy too.

Mine are Red & Blue, SWMBO's are Blue & Red.

I still balk at paying 65 quid for those as well.
They are a good half way house between Hunter Wellies and Dubarry Shamrocks.

Boots

The quayside boots are normally obtainable at a decent price. They seem after a year to be up to the job (we have 3 pairs in the house), fit well if you happen to have large calfs and the one problem we had resulted in a free pair of boots being provided.

we have again invested in Dubarrys cant really fault them & Dubarry will re-sole them if needed

I love my Dubarrys and think they're worth every penny, but unfortunately it's very subjective and I'm aware of crew who hate theirs!

Shame you can't do a try before you buy!

Dubarry fastnets

Glad this thread came up... I use my Dubs every day and they get soaking wet, they have been great for a couple of years but are now starting to pong a little.

I have gone for Ultima Dubs in the past, has anyone tried the fastnets?

The Ultima's would tend to gather a little and be a bit flappy.. if that makes sense??

Just thought I would ask, just incase someone said the grip was rubbish etc.

SWMBO got a pair of Quayside boots and loves them. Only £30 at Gaelforce.
I'd have got a pair too but my skinny little legs are too narrow. Which makes are more likely to fit? Any manufacturers provide calf measurements?
