sorry, new to sailing. Sailing in would be in the sea. Shelters areas though.

Make sure it comes with the mast and rigging (not shown in the picture) and in working order.

More details? how much are they asking etc?

Has it been used on the sea. If it's been on an inland water you will have a fair bit of gear to get to make it suitable for sea use.
On the other hand it may have old gear which needs replacing anyway.

Just seen where you are based. I'm supposing it is local to you. Are there any other sailing enthusiasts on the island you could quiz?

If it has all the rig I reckon it would be a good wee boat but it is wee. You would need to be quite sheltered and expect to get wet from time to time. We did some training on a similar size boat and in the right conditions it is great fun and quite nippy. Where you are though I would have thought things could get out of hand pretty quickly if you ventured too far out. Probably loads of bits should be replaced but if you are in a nice sheltered area with backup then you might as well give it a go, the forces shouldn't be too extreme.

If buying the original boat take someone with you who knows sailing & can check out the rig, sails & equipment.
