Hi is there anyone out there who has sailed across to the caribbean with their dog. We are going to sail firstly to Barbados then on where we feel like it. What paperwork is required to sail with a dog. She has had all her vacinations including rabies and will have a pet passport. We are currently living in Ibiza and will sail through the med to the canaries and then on from there. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Depends where you are going, cause if it is likely that you will end up in Australia, they take a dim view of doggy imports. If the longer term plan is to return to UK during dog's lifetime, then you will have a problem getting dog back into country without the long stay at a doggy hotel.

yes please pass on my email craw4d2003@yahoo.co.uk. we will be going to Barbados then onto the islands, havn't decided which route yet, but would love to hear from people who are traveling with dogs. We have no intention of returning to UK and also no intention of going as far as Australia.

Passed over by email - they are Adrian and Sue (plus dog Kaz) if they get it and reply to you directly.
Good luck

Re: dog sailing

This link was really informative. It sounds really daunting with all the regulations but I could not leave her behind. Obviously other people manage so we will some how.
