Sailing 40ft Columbia

Anyone out there have experience sailing a 40 to 43 ft Columbia Sloop narrow length 6+ feet castiron buldged end keel design, takes much foresail, interested in comments on speed, stability in rough seas please respond....

Um, AFAIK these are a nice looking heavy displacement boat, but they are US made, so there are few if any in the UK, and this Forum is mostly populated by Brits. You are more likely to get a response on a US based forum. Having said that, someone will now pitch up and tell all about some Columbia 40s racing as a one-design on Little Puddlington reservoir.

I guess that some words loss something in translation. I meant “model” as in brand, type and style. The boats that they are using are the full sized ones, trust me on that. It’s a group of sailors that is very active and has lots of information to share with anyone that is interested. Post the question on the Yahoo group and you will get lots of feedback.
