Being a sailer all my life and also a windsurfer untill 4 years ago, there are stupid water users whether windsurfers, jetskiers, powerboaters or sailers. For some one to say on here that they would run them down because they deserve it, is down right disgraceful. I would like to point out that if one was to run down the stand on craft (and it has the right of way) then he would get all that he deserved. There are idiots all over the place, now on this forum some are bringing the road rage symdrome into the boating fraternity, and frankly these people should look at why they go to sea in the first place.

I am agree with you. There are strong considerations about to introduce legislation, certificates of competence, taxes and compulsory register in the boating comunity and people thinking about run down others only help to our government to do this

I fully agree with you. Common sense and knowledge of the sea are better than all sorts of regulations, though.

What would it look like if people said that lorry drivers had the right to run (motor-)cyclists over?

Lost in Denmark - a yachtsmans paradise!

regulation's fine, but you would have to introduce regulation for everyone. What good is it having all the boat owners with ICCs if (as we do) you have a river full of '1/2 hour hire' motorboats? "Sorry, mate, I know it's only a fiver for the half hour, but you need to spend 500 quid getting an ICC first..."

Graham Wignal,

sorry I'm not sure that you have understood my post, it was in reply to the windsurfer posting by rich about sail give way to power.

regards Rob
