"How to Trim Sails" by Peter Schweer, published by Adlard Coles.

"Sail trim for cruisers" also by Fernhurst I think (my copy on loan just now) was pitched at just the right level for me i.e. not too technical.

Can also recommend this one. I'm pretty new to sailing and get caught out when I have to figure out such things like 'tweaker'= barber hauler and the relationship between 'opening the leech' 'increasing twist' and 'sail belly/camber'. It seems everything has at least two names and everything's inter-related, so if I can make sense of this book and see how it can be used in a race perhaps anyone can!
Lots of stuff on sail and rig settings for conditions but not much on spinnakers/'kites' (but then again I wouldn't know if there is much to say!). Written for both cruisers and racers.
