We have a superb high cut Yankee on our 40 foot cutter. It is beautifully cut from a very heavy fabric and still has an excellent shape. It was originally made by Carlsen Sails of Denmark.

I have just spent a couple of days removing the old sacrificial strip,it hasn't been replaced for about 8 years and the time has come. As I have stripped back the fabric the sail under the canvas is not in good shape, lots of stitching gone etc.

I recognise my limitations where sail making is concerned and I want to find a really great sailmaker who can repair where needed and put on a new sacrificial strip. I am not interested in being told that I need an expensive new sail......

Currently in Dartmouth, Devon but could deliver it anywhere along the South Coast.

Any forumites out there who know of a good loft they would whole heartedly recommend?

Hi

Try Sanders Sails in Lymington, they are very good at traditional sails and bespoke hand worked sails

Just a satisfied customer.

Good luck
