Probably a dumb question but this year I plan to race in the round the island and perhaps a few round the cans in the club, but where do i get a sail number from.
My Benny 343 does not have them, do they have to be serialised or can i choose any number, advise please

Hi
Go to theRYA site and follow links. They can issue a sail number for a fee. this is to register it against your boat and to avoid duplication. For the rules on sail numbers see Appendix G Rules of Sailing . International classes have special numbers. Some builders often used numbers on completion of the hull, but now RYA issue a number if you do not have one.
If there is already a number on any sail that came with the boat then use that as long as its not the same on anoher boat of the same design. The idea is to aid identification when racing.
