Does anyone know of a suppliier of sail battens, preferably based near London or Kent. I've lost one, and broken another of the battens in my mainsail on my Dehler 36 CWS. The sail is a fully battened one. The battens appear to be made of fibreglass, seem quite stiff, and are 200mm wide with a cross section of 60mm at their thickest point. I'm looking for one of eight foot length and another of four foot seven inches (sorry about the mix of metric and imperial but I only had an imperial tape on the boat to measure the batten pockets.
Many thanks in advance--all suggestions gratefully received.

On my Dehler 37 the sails orig supplied were Elvstrom and the batten pocket bits and sliders were Rutgerson. The latter were helpful when I contacted them about a problem (of my making) but they made me think that Elvstrom had supplied the battens.
Do post if you find a source as it may help others in the future! Good luck

Yes it would seem that there is maybee a decimal point wrong!!
20mm x 6mm would seem more reasonable.
As you say 6 (or 60mm) at the widest (Thickest?) point I guess that these are tapered Battens which I believe are quite expensive. If you are happy to use standard battens with a fixed coss section then you will be in the same position that I was in at the begining of the season with a new main and no battens.
I rang around the sailmakers who were advertising in PBO and discovered that there was a big range of prices.
I'm afraid that I can't rememember who I got mine from in the end but they were about half the price of some companies.
They will mail order for not a lot of cost but beware if they come coiled up as cutting the tape unleashes considerable coiled energy (ask my broken thumb about that one!!)
I will try to find the old invoice if you get stuck.
Regards

Thanks everyone for the help. Yes Norman_E and Petercaterall you are both quiite right---decimal point in the wrong place. (My excuse is that it's such a long time since I used a micrometer that I was "confused". Mind you I seem to be getting more and more "confused" these days, must be something to do with advancing years!)
