I have used my last Very (?) Safety Pistl Cartridges, would anyone know where I could get some more? To make this even more difficult I am currently in France. Any help would be appreciated.
I had a Very, I remember I had to account for the cartriges as part of the licence/firearms cert thing, and could not (legally) buy them without quoting the licence/f.a.c details. You may have a prob getting a carrier to haul from the UK as they will be hazardous cargo. Good Luck. Bill.

You can buy them in the Uk but as above re the licence. P&O will let you carry them in a car boot.
Very pistol is really a poor safety signal device. The flares are fairly bright, (much better than miniflares!!!) but not brighter than the hand launced parachute flares. The very flares also have a very short visible time because of a lack of a parachute.
Thus you have a device that has all the problems of requirement for a firearms certificate, without any real redeeming features.
If you must use it, fire the flares in pairs. The first one may catch people's vision in the corner of their eyes, and then the second one gets seen (possibly)
I certainly wouldn,t call it a "poor" device, cartriges much cheaper than flares, much more compact, safer to use and you can afford to buy and carry a lot more of them.

Each person is entitled to their own opinion. However, I have fired about 100 very cartridges of different colours, and set of at least 50 parachute flares, and my personal preference is the parachute flare.
