Cradle security
I read somewhere recently that the foot of yacht keels should be wedged laterally within the frame of the cradle to prevent swivelling sideways in storm conditions. I have never seen it done at our marina but it does seem a sensible and simple extra measure. Does it happen elsewhere? It would help control excess pressure on the pads.We winter ashore with the keel stepped mast left up. The recommended cradle is only four leg, but with a pretty deep, short fin keel I sometimes do worry, our boat covers add more windage.
