Well they are supposed to be undsinkable !!!
Mind you if the skins get damaged, as in your case .I had one a few years back even though it was in a bit of a state it still ( mabe just for peice of mind ) worked ok.

Me bit of paper which is stuck to the side of the bulkhead near the radio tells anybody who is not a boaty person what to do if I go over the side/collapse/etc.Ie pick up mike push CH 16 knob squeeze thing on side of mike and then say What/where/why Help Help Help etc etc etc oh and do not forget to let go PTT and listen .Ok the the three times bit is poss a bit much but the bit of card does give some sort of rational help to any one else on boat.And does anyone ever take the time to run through the basic controls on the boat with people going out with you,Like this starts it and this stops it?
