Safe wave height for Golfing

Hi,
I am supposed to be playing golf this morning in near Basingstoke, about 30 miles inland on the top of chalk hills. With all the bad weather about, I thought it might be worth checking, with wind and rain in mind as this might affect playing plan.

Would you say that the wave height may be a problem? :ambivalence:
Wear a PFD to be safe

I'd be more concerned about the fetch. 30 miles is a long fetch. Don't go near any ditches and you should be OK.

Once the wind gets trapped in your dimples your balls will fly for miles , your drives will be landing on the Par 4 greens (well the down wind ones at least) go for it :encouragement:

How right you are, my partner (ex-pro) drove onto the green on the second hole. 420 yards downwind, I only managed 300, still it was wet and no run on the ball. :(

Wave forecast totally wrong, the mean height of waves only 50mm in a flooded bunker but quite choppy, 150mm on the lakes!

From 3 up at eighth we lost on the 17th to two 2 handicappers. Us both of 5 in a scratch match so not too much shame really.
Wind over 40 knots at one one point when a squirrel came through with driving rain, should have been tucked up safely on my boat. eh?:ambivalence:
Cheers,
RR
