Blimey; having watched a couple of video#s of it, that's an awesome looking piece of kit, which apart from the scale of it, leaves me a bit cold really.

Would make an interesting entrance arch, foyer feature to some maritime themed development.

amazing pic from a great perspective.... what an absolute waste of resources. Think of the old 12 metres having their own circuit, maybe some of the IACCs but these are useless for sailing after the event.

Sad.

Whilst on the subject, wonder what happened to Pete Goss's Team Phillips cat. The mast on each hull concept didn't extend further afield. Perhaps the wave piercing hulls did.

When to see it being built in SW ,UK . So much optimism and enthusiasm at the time.

There is a very good reason why she has lain where she is for 11 years. The catamaran was a ‘one off’ as are most boats built for specific events, and would have no further use after the event. The owner of Alinghi group is a pretty smart guy, and word here on the pontoons:) is that after the cup races (only 2 were sailed, best of three), he gifted the boat to the City of Valencia. How could they refuse without causing offence, as it was Alinghi that brought the Cup event to Valencia back in 2007. Poisoned chalice or what?
This is worth a read!
