Sad news

I'm, really shocked and saddened to hear that, Mark was one of the funniest and most entertaining posters on the forum. He'll be missed here, but i can't imagine how you must be feeling.

Just to add my condolences to all the others. I found Mark's posts to be refreshing in their enthusiasum, joy in having discovered sailing which took me back to when we first started. His willing to "have a go" at anything and sense of fun was quite infectious and I looked forward to reading about his next project or endeavours. I did not know him personally which clearly was my loss. A top,top bloke leaving the world and the forum a lesser place.

That news has knocked me down. In his short time on the forum he sparkled and was incredibly enthusiastic about everything to do with sailing and boats.

His pride in the things you did together made me look forward to his posts, and he was a true 'joiner-in'.

I am literally totally dumbfounded by that news. I am so very sorry.

I am sad to say I never met Mark, however we had exchanged a number of friendly PMs, and we'd actually tried to meet once or twice when I'd dropped into Lauren Marine in passing and I was hoping he might be around for a pint at the Yachtsman. His open, honest, amusing, enthusiastic and well written posts were some of the very best on this forum and I'm sure I speak for all forumites when I say we will miss him and his posts hugely.

Very sorry to learn your news. Mark's enthusiasm and his willingness to go the extra distance to make us all smile were quite something. Its easy to write something, but it's really hard to make it funny. It must be an awful loss.

I will post funeral details once we know.
