I have linked my original thread about the story of our family boat ownership to date here: http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?391575-proud-moment-launch-time-with-some-pics
However despite having a professional lesson for myself and wife booked end of the month, my dad managing to get a proper lesson in with the goat of our first major trip to mull next month..
Unfortunately his condition of a terminal cancer had developed, changed and got the better of him this week. Sadly he passed away on Saturday. It was peaceful and painless and surrounded with immediate family.
We did manage some boating, with a few hassle free trips, the last being the first trip out of loch creran and up the coast of Lismore to the top before returning to our marina.
I still intend to get my lessons and use the boat while its still in the water, but as was expressed when we looked at boats, it is now to be sold on to release its costs. I fully intend to complete the trip to mull for him to prove we had done enough work, learning to do it.
I can however say he was a proud motor boat owner and its definitely lit the fire in me to get 1 of my own in the future
Rip, To my dad, a very proud boat owner robbed of the 'goal' by a month despite best efforts from everyone.
