I have just learned that a boating friend who has been unwell for a long time is now very ill.

I have been asked to sell his boat which is a cheap small grp cruiser and obviously given the circumstances a quick cash sale is preferred, any advise or help achieving this would be appreciated.

If the moderator removes this post I understand, or with his permission given the circumstances I will post the details in the for sale forum.

And please? No idiot reply’s!

Thanks in advance Rick

For the quickest sale, depending upon size and value obviously, if it is on a trailer you could always put it through a sale room, with a small reserve. At least it will sell.

I think Ebay is overrated for big stuff, too many time wasters, though my thoughts on this are only from people on here and many adverts with the words re-advertised due to time wasters.

Boats and outboards seems extremely popular, as long as you are realistic with the price.

I would guess the biggest hurdle will be what his wife thinks the boat is worth, I realise this is sexist, but I have seen many times the wife can not sell the boat after as she thinks it is worth '000s instead of '00s.

To save any aggravation I would put it on boats and outboards and also on.........

Thanks for your reply's,
it is priced realistically, the minimum price I have is a third of what I have seem them advertized for. and this one has a trailer, so it should sell fast.
I have just listed it on B&O I will use Ebay as a last resort.

thanks..Rick

Despite all the agonies of boat owning we all dread the day when we have to hang up our sea-boots. But that day will dawn for all of us and we sympathise with your friend.

At that price and location I would put it on ebay as well. A £500 starting bid and I'm sure that you'd get a good final price. A lot of small inland / estuary fishing boats sell on ebay.
