I have just learned that a boating friend who has been unwell for a long time is now very ill.

I have been asked to sell his boat which is a cheap small cruiser and obviously given the circumstances a quick cash sale is preferred, any advise or help achieving this would be appreciated.

If the moderator removes this post I understand, or with his permission given the circumstances I will post the details in the for sale forum.

And please? No idiot reply’s as I am not in the mood!

Thanks in advance Rick

I have a relative in a similar position, but with the added complication that the boat needs a lot of work to get it into saleable condition. The executors need a quick sale, and the mooring owners need it shifted, so all in all the boat is probably worthless.
Probably ebay with no reserve is the best option.

If you are not too worried about how much you get, give it a whirl on Ebay. I had a 16ft fishing boat which got nicked last year and totally trashed. It was eventually recovered but not before it had been almost completely taken to pieces - basically only the hull moulding was intact.

I got £75 for it on Ebay from a 99p start! About £74.01 more than it was worth.....

Plenty of photos so people can see what they are bidding on is the best way. If it doesnt sell, you may well get further enquiries after the auction closes.
