Re: MBM News page lead article , ' Sealine UK is no more as brand is sold overseas'. being local to Kidderminster and as a Sealine owner this is a very sad day indeed.

Sad it's no longer UK but the brand at least continues with 2 possibly 3 models which is good news as far as I'm concerned. Gutted for the workforce tho.

But it is only a name, what made a Sealine a Sealine was the staff at Kidderminster, now it's what the investment firms employees what it to be.

Plus not long ago they were employing getting on for 700 people, exporting £100 million, now it's a another import and even more serious it's ruined my sailing again, just got a balance, 2 weeks work, 2 weeks sailing, now I've got go back to earning a living :(

Yup, sadly Sealine is dead as a dodo. Hanse may start knocking out the SC35 and F42 as was, but they're not going to be Sealines, they're Hanse boats made using Sealine moulds. We've been on the water all weekend, and everywhere we've been they've been Sealines of all ages. Far more than any of the other UK manufacturers.

Hi All,

Just for clarity Hanse have not bought anything. Aurelius who own (amongst many many other) Blaupunkt, Isochem, Briar Chemicals, HanseGroup etc have bought some of Sealine. I would be very surprised if they intend to build anything Sealine related along side the Moody's Dehlers and Hanses. Aurelius narrowly missed out on X Yachts which are all built under contract anyway, so i would expect them to choose a contract yard to build anything new too.

It will be interesting to see what Aurelius brand the new boats as. The hulls are so distinctive, that they will be obvious Sealines, unless there is considerable styling change.
