Hi
Can anyone advise I have had the sacrificial strip on my roller furling head sail and roller reefing main replaced in both cases they have not removed the clew but have cut the cloth round it leaving approximately 6 sq ins of unprotected sail should I worry about this or not.

We are having our genoa done at the moment. But if we had it finished like you have described, it would be back for corrections. Or a very convincing reason as to why it wasn't finished properly. I had Solitaire's genny done last year, and the whole strip was replaced and correctly stitched around head and clew. Done by Arun sails. Nice folk

Just based on what you have said, and without seeing the sails 'in the flesh', I would definitely be complaining about them. The whole point of the UV strip is to protect the exposed part of the sails, at all times. So if the clews are not covered, they aren't protected, which is not going to do them any good, IMHO.
