S23 on trailer - how much weight should be on centre rollers?

Hi guys,
I have the S23 (had 32) on the trailer for the winter, and she's empty except for a full tank of diesel.

She's on a roller trailer, with 3 or 4 centre rollers. Now I know that the majority of the weight should be on the centre rollers, and the side rollers should only be used to balance the boat.

So, say if the boat is 2800KG (Does anyone know the exact weight??), how much weight should I have distributed on each centre roller?

Hi dry weight of a 240 from brochure 1996 is 2100kg the boat would sit on centre rollers and outer rollers want nipping up to support but not to take the boat weight. hope this helps

I dont think i ever had a boat that sat on the centre rollers. Mind you, I had a hell of alot of side rollers (48 or so)....

Some years ago I did a lot of towing with my S23 (actually an S24 but the same) and managed to crush the keel so I strongly recommend (as I did after the event) buying some more centre rollers (2 sets) for extra support. Your setup sounds the same as mine with a few side rollers really just for support.

Well I have 48 side rollers altogether (didn't believe the seller at the time until I counted them) and 4 centre rollers. Now it looks like that the keel is sitting on all of the rollers, but i'd imagine that there should be a bit of weight on them, would just like to know how much.

It's times like this I wish I didn't worry/think about absolutily everything, but I just want everything to be perfect... stupid over-active brain!

I have experience with 2 respected trailer brands,
Riba in Belgium, and Harbeck in Germany.
with both of them I know for sure that all the weight should be on the center rollers.
The side rollers are usually more soft, and just there to hold the boat in place.
While boat is level on the center rollers, just push the side rollers by hand against the hull, job done.
the trailer for my latest boat (3ton) has only got 6 center rollers, and 6 soft side rollers. (3 each side !)
and a hand adjustable bunk.
IMHO Trailers with a lot of rollers are proove of no good quality, these rollers can't handle very much weight, so during launch, it might happen that the weight is only distributed over a few rollers, so if they are not strong, a big chance for damage to the rollers.
