Anyone have any idea what the make is, of the rather forlorn, algy covered boat at Rye.It is moored opposite the high street and looks to be very 60s possibly wooden?

the boat you mention is fiberglass and is in the strand, its been like that for five years or more only saw the owner on it the once, belongs to some old boy. all the time he pays his mooring fees it will carry on rotting, shame to see boats go that way.

I can see it on google street view but cant work out how to link it.

Click the little 'link' symbol in the top rh corner just above the streetview image. Copy the url and paste it like this:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=high+street,+rye,+sussex&hl=en&ll=50.949546,0.729625&spn=0.010315,0.027874&sll=50.956203,0.737618&sspn=0.00519,0.013937&vpsrc=0&t=m&z=16&layer=c&cbll=50.949496,0.729717&panoid=CW--RS4N6kumVVl00aN17A&cbp=12,217.49,,0,8.11

It'll render like this:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=hig...=CW--RS4N6kumVVl00aN17A&cbp=12,217.49,,0,8.11

I'm pretty sure you can't directly embed streetview images.

Cheers

My money is on something American, poss Chris Craft but too big ? or something Dutch like an early Van Lent but not quite...

Sorry no help at all..

i think were talking about a different boat, the one in richards photo is indeed wooden, it was moved down to harbour entrance then back up to the corner of rock channel + rother some time ago. hes slowly doing it up but will never be sea worthy again. its had its p bracket pushed thru the hull when it sat on something solid when the tide went out. it originated from brighton where it belonged to some boy band. (party boat)in its time it was said it was the fastest boat in brighton marina. its a twin screw with petrol engines (not running) made of plywood. cant help you with the make thou.
