If anyone has descaled their 42's how many litres of Rydlyme mix was required per engine. (raw water)

Any tips or gotcha's to be wary of?

Thanks in advance.

When I did our 44s I used 10 litres of rydlyme , but used it neat as there will be a certain amount of water left in the system unless you totally drain down . I just used a bilge pump and container in reverse direction from the exhaust elbow to the water pump outlet . Flush out the seawater first BTW .

Forgot to say 10 litres for both engines

Up to 30% works fine apparently. 2-4 hours reverse flush should suffice. Worked well on my TAMD40b's :encouragement:

I dumped it into the bilge, and set up an inline 12v pump to run it through continually!

Like a little water feature it was...I was sad to connect it all up again :p

Sorry if this is pure ignorance, but I'm worried about water getting in to the exhaust manifold via the elbow. which of these 3 pipes corresponding pipes to the heat exchanger (obviously 1 of the pipes are still on the heat exchanger but you get the principle) do I put the top of the reverse flush to.

Top, mid left or bottom?
