I was actually thinking, there are probably quite a few of us in the Islands who need to update their VHF licences this season.
Perhaps we need to have a Forumites training weekend...

Yes, this is true...
I prefer to do courses around the channel islands, it keeps me out of the uk,

I am genuinely surprised i cant find anyone who does the yacht master or offshore/coastal type courses.
A chap in guernsey sent me a reply saying he doesn't do them, or isn't doing them...

Chap in jersey not replied at all....

Perhaps getting a few people together to get Soliaire, or Powerskipper over for a weekend may be the way forward..Ian

For my Powerboat Yacht Master it was easier for me to hop over to Hamble and live aboard for a week.

Rob I have an old type VHF Certificate, and the new Certification is to bring it up to date to include DSC, I could do with a refresher any way, as things have moved on a bit, both in the kit, and language since I did it..
I was actually looking at Solitaire s web site earlier...
