Latest email from the RYA trumpeting their new association with Sunsail with a prize competition.



Only after entering do you find the prize is not a cat in the lovely summer sunshine but a monohull "for travel between October 6, 2024, to November 3, 2024, or from March 9, 2025, to May 18, 2025."

I saw both of those as positives... I'd rather have a go on a one of their smaller monos and I'd prefer to go shoulder season, when the sun isn't trying quite so hard to flay me!

Likewise. Also not so crowded.

I won't be entering though. I've heard a few tales about Croatian officialdom.

I guess early October or late May would be their shoulder season, any other time verging on winter.

I've done a two week charter there (monohull) and didn't experience any officialdom but very expensive restaurants anywhere yotties might venture.

Sailing Fair Isle didn't get on with them though.
