For those aiming to go commercial, please be aware that at least one Port Authority does not accept the RYA qualification.

I have no idea why.

Surely its the law of the flag state that applies not the port authority?

My wife is training to be a Coxn on a tour boat, Dolphin trips. She has been commercially endorsed for many years but needs a Port Authority Licence.

The RYA sea survival course has been deemed as inadequate.

In Rome and all that. Thought it might save someone a few bob!

Here, its all about how the Port Authority staffers view it. There is no appeal.

However, they generally do a good job managing a very busy area.
