Hi Folks

Myself and a number of friends (5 at the last count) are planning to take the pb level 2 course preferbly in North Wales after Easter.
Has anybody had experiance of any of the schools up there and could recommend eg value for money (we are students all with at least some experiance of RIBs and dories), quality of tution, whether discount could be given if we have a large enough group etc?
Did a search on this but came up a with a debate over displacements V RIB's and that the course is great fun and worth doing /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif(perhapes I used the wrong search words).
cheers Pip /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There is a young chap called Jonno Garton who seems to be taking over the powerboat training world at present. He runs an operation called Professional Powerboat training out of Pwhelli and I think is expanding down south as well. Not had training experience with him but have been on RIB cruises with him and he seems to know what he is about. Also feedback on www.rib.net from his customers seems to be pretty positive.

Hi I have just taken my level 2 Powerboat Course at Southamton, with Professional Powerboat Training (Pwllheli & Southamton) Very good course very nice people.

If you're intending using the N Wales school then have a look on ebay because they advertise their courses on there... they seem remarkably cheap for what you get (that by the way is not a critical comment).
Before you book on any course make sure you know exactly what you are going to get for your money.... met a couple last week who had done a PB2 course on the south coast (I'll not say where) and they were charged £300 (each), then had to pay for £65 of petrol AND they had to pay for the certificates etc at the end. That appeared a bit expensive to me as it didn't include accommodation etc etc.... take care!
