In an effort to get the wife upto my high stand of navigation..he he..I signed on for a yactmaster shore based course at home. Now cos she's crap at finding her way out of the house its taken her a year to pass "my course" on navigation...but she or more correctly I have passed...so when the certificate turns up in the post this morning in an A4 envelope imagine my surprise when SHOCK HORROR the certificate is no bigger than a postage stamp and looks crap.

Now not wishing to sound ungrateful or anything but.....MY FIVE YEAR OLD GETS BETTER CERTIFICATES THAN THIS for running 50 ft and coming in tenth on school sports day.

come on RYA sort out some decent tickets how can I hang this on the wall in my office !!!!!

Yes I 've got that as well, but its not a Yachtmasters certificate its just a ticket to say that you attended the course.
To get a "Yachtmaster" you have to do the practical test, and then you get the full certificate, don't know if its any grander though cos I've never seen one.

The YM practical exam certificate is the same as the YM/CS theory course - but you get a nice driver's licence/passport style hardbound wallet with photo type ID, about the size of the old UK passport.

I guess people will just have to be impressed by your boat handling prowess /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
