It may appear to be too big for my E30 but I have bought a Rutland 913, my plan is to mount in on the starboard quarter adjacent to the the pushpit, I have the full mounting kit, any thoughts on how to best stabilise the pole? Should I install some extra point on the side deck and transom and attach to the push pit? Any thoughts and pictures of existing installations would be helpful.

I have mounted a Rutland 913 on the stern of my Ballad - looks OK to me.

I used the two part pole supplied by Rutland, and bolted the base brackets to the cockpit coaming. The pole is held upright by two struts made of 25mm s/s tube. One strut is attached to the opposite side of the transom, and the other to the cockpit coaming. The fittings at either end of these struts are heavy duty cast sprayhood fittings from Baseline.

As a backup, I've also attached the mounting pole to the top rail of the pushpit.

No pictures available at the moment, but I will try to organise something next time I'm down on the boat

I have the smaller Rutland on my Halmatic 30. It is mounted on a vertical pole in the corner of the pushpit and braced with one small diagonal tube. Its been there for 3 years now and is fine. It makes a small whirring noise when operating but you soon get used it and it is a small price to pay for keeping the batteries topped up.

I have solved this problem as follows:

The mounting post is fixed at the base onto the transom outboard of the pushpit using a bracket.

The post is then fitted to the top of the the pushpit.

I had two lugs made from SS shackles welded to the post. These are attached with lightweight rigging wire and dinghy bottle screws to two U-bolts on the deck just inboard of the pushpit.

Pic attached of it works!!

Hope this helps.
