Turkey, like most of the world's nations, has not imposed any sanctions on Russia. Why would you find it odd to find a Russian-flagged yacht there?I saw this yacht passing as I was sitting on my terrace having coffee this morning. I can't recall having seen another Russian flagged yacht since the start of the Ukraine sanctions. She travelled up the coast from Göcek staying in Turkish waters all the way. She's now south of Çeşme.
I didn't say it was odd. I said it's the first one I've personally seen since the sanctions were introduced. That said, most of the superyachts, regardless of the nationality of the owners, are registered in the Caribbean etc. Most want to conceal their identity for privacy reasons.Turkey, like most of the world's nations, has not imposed any sanctions on Russia. We saw that off Tobermory a few weeks back, ugly brute of a thing. We'll stick with our 50 year old Westerly. thank you very much. The vessel La Datcha has recently been mooching around the Clyde - La Datcha Expedition Yacht 77
Not Russian flagged per se, but seems to be some connections - you may note the dual language website, EN and RU.
Sure entirely innocent, but some locals noted that a large UK yacht would be unlikely to be permitted to be moored for extended periods within site of the main nuclear submarine base in some other countries
They offered a swap?We saw that off Tobermory a few weeks back, ugly brute of a thing. We'll stick with our 50 year old Westerly. thank you very much.
