River Thames – emergency lock closure
Rushey Lock
Monday 11 February 2013 to Monday 18 February2013
Due to the ongoing works at Rushey Weir we are now at full capacity and unable to
open any further weir gates. Due to rising river levels following recent rainfall in the
area, we will be closing Rushey Lock as soon as possible today, Monday 11
February to help us manage water levels through the lock. We will re-open the lock
to boat traffic at 09.00 on Monday 18 February or before if river conditions return to
normal.
There is insufficient mooring space at Rushey lock to await passage through the lock.
No queuing is possible. If you plan to transit through Rushey lock and require the
latest update, please speak with Lock and Weir keepers at nearby locks, or call
Rushey Lock office during working hours (0900 – 1600) on 01367 870218 for advice.
A further notice will be issued on Monday 18 February if required.
We apologise for any inconvenience this restriction causes and thank you for your
patience during this time.
