Jeanneau have two of those just where they build the leader boats only dont know about the other sites.

I would say the application of this load is gunna be crucial. Frexample, if you increase revs slowly on tight lines, then twill be fine. On the other hand, use long lines, and open it up nice and quick to really make a decent job of shock loading the cleats and ripem off the pontoon(or the boat).

OK OK my calcs were crude. They did not include any shock load calcs, decellerative force required to stop 33 tonne boat in 6 inches of line-stretch length when the lines snatch at 20 knots, low cycle fatigue, etc etc. Bleedin obvious you need to do this stuff gently, you'll unnerstand when yachtmaster (tee hee). Whadya want ferchrissakes, finite element analysis? :)

I've certainly seen it done. Before buying our present boat, I comissioned a complete engine inspection by Volvo on the 2 x 200hp TAMD 41As. Cost €306 and the vendor had already agreed to pay for any work needed. Nice one - minor bits and pieces and a full service came to €3000. If only all my investments.............
Any way, as part this, Mr Volvo routinely carries out a full power test. Simply ties it to the pontoon with props pointing to open water (in his yard, not at the marina) uses his own ropes (not the ones on the boat) ties them to the metalwork of the pontoon (not the cleats). Then TWO for 15 minutes whilst techie type in full protective gear goes into engine room with gadgets to measure, listen, sample etc
All seemed very cheap - a bit over £100 per engine, but then Volvo labour charges are very significantly cheaper in Holland than in the UK

Eh? Bustify tank??

Dont unnerstand. Tank is concrete, how's it gonna break?. AFAIK boats are lashed in the middle, then run in gear. I think there's a baffle at the far end to catch the water splooshed out by prop turning.
