Runners and Riders 2006 Chentleman's Cruise

Re: Runners and Riders 2006 Chentleman\'s Cruise

I have never been through the Corryvreckan - if conditions are suitable - is it possible to put that on the itinenary?

Re: Runners and Riders 2006 Chentleman\'s Cruise

I think so
we'd need to be there instead of going through Cuan so the Oban boats would need to be up earlier and down to us or meet us on the far side.

Re: Runners and Riders 2006 Chentleman\'s Cruise

Wow - meeting them on the far side sounds a bit ominous - is Corryvreckan that bad?

See ya soon - getting a wee bitty excited now.

Re: Runners and Riders 2006 Chentleman\'s Cruise

Well - what I meant was that instead of coming through Pladda - they could come down the outside of Shuna instead of the Sound of Luing and we'd meet up with them once through Corryvreckan.
I've already offended the Pope's sensibilities by intimating that this can be a "Kind to Silkie" Cruise so I'm anxious to avoid a recurrence!

Re: Runners and Riders 2006 Chentleman\'s Cruise

Wouls a visit tae Reykavik for duty free shopping be out the question?

Re: Runners and Riders 2006 Chentleman\'s Cruise

Not at all, Not at all
We've an Ocean Greyhound wi us so ef ma fat airsed auld puffer cannae keep up we could park her in Stornoway an all get oan tae ra Papal Ship.

Re: Iceland, schmiceland

Teakie dae ye think we're all desperate alkies? If we wiz we'd be oan a tout o' Buckfast Abbey! Nah its ra duty free Cod,chips and mushy peas we're efta!

Re: Iceland, schmiceland

"Teakie dae ye think we're all desperate alkies?"

Redundant question!

And I've not seen a chippie in doontoon Rejkavik/Rekjavik/Reckayavic/Wreckyervic (delete as applicable) either. Just restaurants with inbuilt bank managers to arrange the loan you need to eat there.

Re: Runners and Riders 2006 Chentleman\'s Cruise

Hi folks - been away, so just catching up on the latest - good suggestion James - we've been in Tinker's Hole (or Fiddler's Hole) before, but not tried the Bull Hole. Personally I would NOT wish to leave the boat at anchor in either location for reasons of pub visiting, so there so it would have to be hand knitted on-board entertainment, and with Webfoot "sleeping" on wir boat, I cannae guarantee that I'll have any wee drammies left.
