I had a rant a year or so ago about my smaller bilge pump from Rule. It was only fitted for two years and the motor shaft rusted up completely and the plastic outlet broke off in the hose.
Now my bigger (2000 gph) Rule pump has failed. I decided to take it to bits ( where did the oil in my bilges come from!!?). And found the shaft seized, I managed to turn it using my moles and it seems to work but for how long? This pump rarely sees any water as it is higher up in the bilges than the smaller one.
And yes the outlet pipe broke in the hose despite my careful twist and pull.
These pumps are presumably designed to use in wet and potentially oily places ??
It's good to have a rant!

I’ve always had Rule bilge pumps in my old open workboats, very unreliable,I even had one burn out, good job there was plenty of water in the bilge!now using cheap sailflow ones.

Johnson! Ten years, thousands of hours, no problems, including regular winter layups out of use 3-4 months. And yes, unsurprisingly, quite an oily bilge.

Lots seem to be made in China now. Perhaps better to buy cheap and accept shorter life.
It's the cheapness in basic things like the casing and the shaft that annoy me. A few pence on better quality basics would make a big difference!
