Rubbish

For well over 20 years I have been a Broom owner. As such it has been my god given duty to rubbish all other makes. Having sold my Broom and hopefully moving on to a Princess I wish it to be known that it is now my duty to rubbish all makes barring the Princess.
I hope no one will feel that I am in any way biased towards which ever make I own. ;-)

Re: Wrong way round Byron?

I was always under the impression that Broom's were a boat you bought as you got older and that Princesses are "youngster's boats. How come you've gone 't other way?

Anyway, they're both rubbish. not likle a proper Fairline

Re: Wrong way round Byron?

Look, I'm only just back on the forum and already I'm having to sort out error's (nearly said c**** ups but I'm frightened I get banned). Everyone knows that you have to be over 60 to own a Broom. And everyone else knows that my Birchwood is much better than those flash Princess's and Fairlines. For a start its got a bigger cocktail cabinet. And its got a thingy on the lower console which tells you the outside temperature (at least it would if I put a battery in it) And its got an ironing board and iron. I rest my case!

Re: Wrong way round Byron?

You don't need a battery to tell you the temperature Nick. You're in Scotland so it's bloody freezing. And as for having an iron, well darn sarf, an iron is rhyming slang for ...well I'll let you work that out but iron hoof = ???. Or perhaps that's how you keep warm in the sub-zero summer's you have up there.

Re: Wrong way round Byron?

Can't resist saying I started with three different 7kn steel displacement Pedros in the mid 1980s to 1990s (having transferred from 5kn sail cruising in the 1970s), wound up driving 30kn Sealines as the 20th Century drew to a close and am currently stuck pondering the speed of servers and internet connections. What does that mean? No, please don't tell me...

I think they're having Zimmer Frame races at the next Rally here at Ashmount. Why don't you enter Kim? ;)

Right way round

Nick
the rest of us have radar and VHF and depth sounders.

Now you have an ironing board.

But with all that scotch Whiskey are you sure its not a surf board !!

Re: Essential equipment

My firm is HLB Kidsons and I am not sure how they are going to feel about you using their name, especially if you are going to smoke when you are doing so. Are you a properly qualified chartered accountant?

I've got an radar, GPS, generator, navtex, vhf (x2), two working turbos, no water in my diesel or diesel in my water but there are a couple of vital pieces of equipment - my wifes ironing board which plugs into the deck socket normally occupied by the saloon table - its vital to look your best when visiting the fleshpots of Tarbet or Lochranza. The other is my vcr so I can be sure my wife does not miss any episodes of Eastenders. Both items are excellent for keeping her quiet and letting me focus on manly things like my whisky and dry!

Re: Wrong way round Byron?

No supercharging mate but you can use 'GO-FASTER' stripes. I'm taking mine off my old Cortina to save money. ;-)
