I,ve lost my book mark on this subject. Can someone recomend a supplier that will supply mahogany by postal service? I want to send them a sample of my rail and get them to machine the wood to the right size and post in back in samll lenghts of about 2 metres. I only need 6 metres in total. Am I right in presuming that the average wood merchant wont hold stocks?

No! This "Swn y Mor" part one registered is the original, 1935, Watson 46' ex. St. Davids, lifeboat, converted to a Gaff ketch, sailed around the world, plus for about 12 years. Owned and converted by my brother, Dr. W.J. Scott. Now in Glasson, whilst getting ready to go again!

I've not been there for a while - I only live about 10 miles away and oftern used to go and have a mooch round but they've raised the security levels not so you can only get in there if you have a berthholders pass.
I think I remember Swn y mor but cannot place biddy. A friend has a Vrtue 'Esther' which he kept there for a while.
Nice place - just a bit of a ball-ache to get anywhere and back in a tide.
I used to keep my boat at Skippool on the Wyre but have moved it to Scotland

Wjen we sail out, we always stay out, for at least one tide, sail over to peel island and anchor, or anchor out by the lune #1 bouy. Yes they increased security, when the amount of y.achts there doubled, but you can still get in most of the day, during the week. When you get in, just check with Barbara or Charlie, that it's ok to walk around.

Swn y mor

Aah
She was in Preston a couple of years ago for a while?
I always wish I'd bought White Syke as she looks like she'll do anything and would be great to live on.
There are one or two really good examples of converted MFV's in Ardfern.
Do you remember square world when she was in Glasson?
Michael Bentines old boat - now in Croabh Haven and looking a bit sad

Re: Swn y mor

Yes, she was in Preston, when he returned from Holland moved to Glasson because it was cheaper and easier access. I didn't see "Square World" , I don't go to Glasson much, was there with Englander afew years ago, but only go to visit my brother, I live in Portugal on board. Shes not a converted MFV though! Shes' an ex. RNLI ifeboat. Or did I miss something.
