Rubber Protection: what is it called?

The cable that leads power to my Raymarine X5 autopilot has a rubber protection cap which prevents water from getting to the connector. This rubber is completely perished (it is literally disintegrating) - I suppose because of UV degradation.
Does anyone have any idea what the part might be called (technically) and where one could get a replacement?

This place tends to be more effective than Raymarine....:o

and while we are at it: does anyone have an idea of the external diameter of the cables they use for their Seatalk connections?

If it's number 15 on page 40, it's called a rubber cap.

Silicone (rubber) inside a piece of plastic after spraying the part you're going to seal with silicone oil (to prevent the rubber silicone sticking) may make what you want if its not available elsewhere.

May not look as nice as the original part, dependent on the skill of the constructor.

Don't think it is that one. If it is a boot it is on the power cable and probably not available separately - the cable assembly (A18061) is about £15 from memory. Expect one could find a boot to fit, but will need the cable being disconnected from the course computer to feed the boot up the cable.

I've tried a product called "Sugru" - a setting mouldable rubber. I used it for for reinforcing wires that enter enclosures, on wires entering the mast and also for repairing a hatch seal. Its been out in the weather all year and doesn't appear to have degraded at all and the hatch has remained watertight.

I'll tell you what I call em: bl**dy useless. Mine disintegrated in one season. Cable glands (or whatever) that can't stand up to a bit of sunshine is akin to a tiller pilot that isn't waterproof. Raymarine just doesn't seem able to get the basics right.
