Aus/NZ scientists have sat-tracked a Royal Albatross circumnavigating the world in 32 days (flying time). For a project I'm doing, I need a swift answer to a navigation question. If the bird followed the 40th parallel, how many statute miles (exactly) would that be? I can't figure it out. Could you help?

At the 40th parallel, 1 degree of longtitude is 53.06 miles or 46.11 Nm, giving a circumference (flight path) of 19101 statute miles. This gives an amazing average speed of 24.9 mph !!
