We’re in Clarence and have been offered a berth move to the hammerhead at the end of C pontoon. They mention wash from the harbour ferry going to Explosion. Anyone got experience of how bad that is?

we are on mooring at gosport cruising club near to the ferry pontoon for explosion - we encounter the ferry in the approach channel by clarence from time to time and have always found the ferry to be very well handled with a courteous approach and negligible wash - certainly when they get to our mooring they are making very little speed

I think that I was on that hammerhead a few winters ago. I did sustain some damage in an easterly gale at high water, when the tide was sufficiently high for Rat Island to be almost covered.

In lots of ways it was a very convenient berth, but I would suggest being very well fendered.
