Rowing accidents

Witnessed a classic bit of RoBo arrogance this morning (Sunday) at around 10am.

A 35 footish Broom type cruiser passed us heading upstream, looked about the right speed, certainly no noise, and almost no wake, at the same time as four middle aged Robo thugees passed by between us (Moored) and the Cruiser.

One of them shouted 'Slow down' at the cruiser, and thinking he was being a bit unreasonable, shouted 'He's not actually going very fast, nor leaving any real wake though is he?'

He replied 'F@ck off' and they carried on....

Pretty standard stuff, only to be expected I suppose

Whereabouts, and which rowing club?

Staines, opposite Gavis place on the public moorings, boat was close, so didn't see any markings. Crewed by four blokes, aged 40-50 heading for Staines bridge.

Probably Staines then, looked like a bunch of thugs LOL

A lovely little mooring that, just big enough for two to three boats, but very quiet apart from the distant wheelspinning noises and subsequent Police sirens...

We saw a rowing boat incident while moored just up from the Medmenham slipway on Saturday morning.

We were sat washing up from the previous nights BBQ when we heard a rather loud 'clang'. Upon looking out we could just see a narrow boat in the middle of the river going downstream with the skipper head down looking at map having just missed a two person scull coming up stream and the oars making contact with the side of his boat.

It pains me to say it but the rowers were right to exchange words, the narrow boat was in the middle and the rowers were well and truly on the right side of the channel.

Amazing what you see while washing up on the river isn't it?

"Definitely Jim, he was stood on the back peeing into the river :-)
