I read today about Adrian Flanagan who is sailing single handed round the world via the arctic! Unbelievable

Didn't overlook it

Just don't know what it means.

Is he using a boat or a sled - or both

Or is it a normal circumnavigation but going to Norway first.

Not at all clear what its all about - or why

Why is is called a 'vertical' navigation? I'd have thought it would be horizontal ...?

Oh gosh

Don't know about that.

Vertical navigation. If you get vertical navigation wrong is it sinking

But why do these things? what is the point? doing whats been done before but making it more difficult for no good reason?

Perhaps I should be the first man to sail around the Isle of Man with my arm in a sling and a sack of nutty slack balanced on my head.
