Round the Island Rowing Race, River Blackwater, Row 4A Reason.

On the side of the lock there are loos and showers (facilities for the moorings) and a fairly extensive BBQ area with a big grassed area set among trees/bushes. Might be worth asking the lock keeper, or Al might know, whether you can pitch a tent for the night as you are supporting the event.

If you give Martin a call at the lock house, on 01621-853-506 or 07712-079-764 and ask him!! Remember to say you are down for the event. Martin is new in the job and may not Tina or me so just go in cold and ask, even tough its Tina's event!! Tina said she will ask tomorrow anyway, so wait to see what comes on here first after she speaks.

It would be a giggle if you stayed over there, highly recommend that you get to the car park early so as to secure a place.

Shaping up to be a good one.

Tina just told me that there were tents over there not that long ago, but she will check anyway.

Dave all our rooms are taken upstairs already, they were 'bags'd' from last years race, but your welcome to stay in the lounge upstairs if that would be better for you and Lou!!

It would be good if you could bring some ut to lie on and sleeping bags.

Copy that good buddy, though she's come home with a cold and not feeling her best I'm sure you'll get her smiling again when we get there. Looking forward to it loads, also likely Simon and crew will be arriving early by boat so someone else to meet too.
Tell Tina she owes me a kiss, can't remember why, but I'm sure I'll think of something
See you there matey

New arrival on here goes by the name SimpleSimon, you'll like him, had a chat on msn quite a few times and also on the phone. Nice lad, just hope his job interview went better than mine seem to go just lately.
He was caught lurking one or two nights so I got in touch and suggested he opened his gob a bit, so he said hello then went back to lurking /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Hope you're reading this Simon, though not tonight from where you are /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Definately fantastic. Am going to leave the other half on shore next year. Took me 15 minutes longer this year. Arm and legs are nice and burnt with all the sunshine we had.

A great day and good to meet up with Mr and Mrs Sixpence and SimpleSimon. Good work done by Tina again.

Had a great time Al, will upload pic's later, but bumped into some that don't pop in here often so promised they would go in Scuttlebutt so they can see your ugly gob /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Might be worth a post up there if for no other reason than to raise awareness of the event so you might see even more next year. Go on, you know you want to /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Then everyone that went can say how the event went for them too, I'm sure Gary has more to say than he's already said /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
