Round The Island Race

Good luck chasing the CO32s - I think I'm doing well if I can beat 1/3rd of them. It is a very well sailed fleet, and I think the CO32 is marginally faster than the Centurion as well.

Have ISC figures changed from last year? If not then you could enter the SB challenge using your (ridiculously low) figure from last year /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It was the handicap that money couldn't buy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There's a CO32 (several in fact) at Eastbourne, but none of them race /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif so I've actually no idea how quick a Centurion is against one, though being a wee bit "tubbier" probably equates to being slightly slower.

As for ability - no shortage of ability on board (and that certainly doesn't include me), our biggest problem is that this will be the first time we've all raced together. Could be exciting, eh?

I suspect that despite being the owner, I'll end up being foredeck crew, as that's where all the string is, and with two sets of spinnaker pole gear, its where the confusion is likely to begin as well. Apart from that, my brother-in-law is a much better sailor than I am - he can have the tiller.

We should be in East Cowes Marina from late Thursday afternoon (weather permitting), so if anyone is about, come and say hello. I don't have the official Forum penant to fly, but I bet I'm the only light blue Centurion in the Marina /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Regards, Jeff.

I wanted to sail under an ISC rating with a different sail configuration but they checked and found out Wendy Lou had an IRC rating and insisted I use that.
