Hi all

Thinking about sock fillers for my Xmas wish list.

What do you have on the shelf? (Or favourites/bookmarks)

Guides, pilots, almanacs, anchorages (yes I saw last week's thread), pubs, miss out this, don't miss out that, fiction etc etc...

Any clunkers to avoid?

Departing from Fleetwood, probably Xwise, Crinan? Will be doing Caledonian.

Mirage 2700, 28' 80's bilge keeler.

Don't sound too keen- I may need crew!

Nick

Imray charts and Reeds almanac. Take your time and talk to the locals.
Worst bit is Humber to Fleetwood. You could try and interesting diversion for this part - up the Humber, drop mast at Hull, motor up Humber/Trent, down the Fosdyke to Lincoln and then down the Witham to Boston and out into the Wash. Really interesting and only a few locks.
When setting off let the weather forecast decide which way you go round - at least you will get some favourable winds
Crinan a must see
Enjoy and PM me if you need a Pilot Between Humber and SE Scotland

The Scottish Islands by Hamish Haswell Smith, a must for the West Coast.
Cruising Scotland, by the Clyde Cruising Club and Cruising Ireland, its Irish pendant, both mouthwatering

First thought was you were taking the P about the southern half - For me, Fleetwood's in Lancashire!

Then I looked on Google Maps & it definitely looks like a plan for my projected trip in a few years. I could even persuade SWMBO to accompany me for that bit!

Where would I put the mast back up? There doesn't seem anywhere obvious between the bridges at Boston and the sea. My snadragon doesn't need a big crane, but I wouldn't want to do it without.
