This weekend Ocean Pirate went down to Portsmouth in preparation for the impending Race.
We left Lowestoft on Saturday Evening after a bit of fraughtness by way of losing the 12v electrics a couple of times.This fixed, onwards to Ramsgit. Crossing the Thames Estuary was a little bumby as only North 4land can be. Into Ramsgit and the Belgian Bar and the local sights were taken in, (remember we are talking saturday night).
Left the North East Kent Metropolis at a reasonable hour Sunday and found a further problem by way af water ingress from the rudder stocks glands. Resulting in frequent stops to pump out the water.
Arrived at Pompey via the Looe at 1630, and by god I am glad I am not based on the south coast. The entrance to Portsmouth, reminded me of Liverpool street station on a monday morning.
Ocean Pirate is now at Gunwharf quay and I shall be rejoining her on Wednesday evening in preparation for the race start on Saturday.
