I have seen a large new ish princess out of the water at Swanwick for some time now and wonder if anybody knows its story.

It's a newish V of about 50 ft or bigger...with a jet ski on the back. The whole outside is covered in green mold and look s like it has not been touched is years.

The props and rudder looked cracked in barnacles even after a clean.

It's such a shame to see such a nice boat rotting away.

It's sat by the dray stack racks

is it quite as crusted as this one for sale locally in Perth :)

There's a bavaria sport 30 in Weymouth, it's a 2008 model and it's sat untouched for 7 years!

It's just ( as in last week) been sold to a new owner, who about to resurrect it. The boat has only done 50 hours which was in its first year according to the new owner

In Portals there was a Cranchi abandoned. Asked around and it was a repo. Bank would not touch it as if they did they had to pay the marina fees ( one assumes they were going to pay them in the end anyway!).

Think is has gone now.

There's a Seaward 25 in Sutton Harbour that apparently is owned by 2 former friends, bought new and then some disagreement ensued and its sat there untouched for probably 6 years or more, still has the wrapping on the helm seats. As its in the water not only must it be costing a pretty penny in marina fees but heaven knows what the stern gear is like after all those years, should imagine the anodes are long gone. Such a shame.

Been trying to get info own it for a client of ours. It seems it is owned by a chap with no time but whop does not want to sell her.
Shame!

It's a feature of boating that across the land marinas and boatyards are all carrying this " stock". Clearly anyone taking fees for storage or berthing will never complain, but us regular boating folk all pass by scratching our heads and think , Why/How??

Doing some rough sums, the owner of said bavaria has wasted about 30k on mooring fees with zero usage.

The new owner has budgeted approx 20k to recommission & I'm guessing he's paid more than 20k below market value on the boat to make it worthwhile!

So I'm guessing the original owner has wasted at least 50k on a boat he's only done 50 hours in. CRAZY!

I was moored in 2011 and 2012 on C Pontoon Swanwick. Next to me was a Princess that fits this description. I met the owner once. He was quite open and said that his family hated boating, they had been out in it once and it was just a huge error. It was new to him in around 2010 but was clean as a whistle when I last saw it.

I can understand an error, but ... then you sell it?

Update: there was a Seaward 25 in Sutton marina, now she's mine and undergoing a thorough refit before being recommissioned.

Well done, how did you manage to get her, and do you know the story behind her? Always seemed such a waste when I walked past her.

I saw the Bavaria when we were in Weymouth in the summer , took a photo as I used to own one and thought it such a shame .IMG_3188.jpg
Hope all goes well for the new owner they are good boats .
