Hi all,
Since I know PBO folk are a resourceful bunch I thought I'd throw this one out to your great knowledge. I have foot pads on my deck (right near the bow) to control my windless and I noticed when fixing an electrical connection some rotted balsa around where they go through the deck.
It's fairly accessible with the foot control removed and I don't want to do too major surgery (The deck is teak covered) so do you know any wizardry products to fix a small area of mushed balsa around the controls area?

Cheers,

Nick

The normal first line of approach is to find out how far it goes into the sandwich. Raking the sodden stuff out - an allen key in a slow turning drill is useful - allowing to dry then back filling with thickened epoxy. The hole will then be epoxy lined and the deck solid.

That makes sense, thanks.. I've raked out probably 3 or so cm around the area before it firms up. So a straight thickened epoxy repair is ok for that kind of sized void?
