Woke up aboard this morning out on the swinging mooring to find that a ground rope from the mooring trot was now on the surface..
Spring tides running hard on the ebb, and last night with wind against flood it was as lumpy as a night at sea.
Folk in the Boat Yard suggest the ground weights have come drift, so they'll be busy today capturing the rope before it snags an unsuspecting passing yacht.

Wow, that shouldn’t happen. Surely it should be a ground CHAIN to be robust enough?
Perhaps depends on the locality. Chain has a very short life anywhere near the locations where old coaling hulks were moored as the spillage in the sediment creates a chemically aggressive environment.
